1. Tesla launches world’s largest Supercharger station in Shanghai. The 72-stall facility is located at Jing’an International Center. All the facilities use V2 Superchargers that produce up to 150 kW.
2. Amazon launched its first TV (dubbed “Fire TV edition”) in India. Currently it is retailing in two sizes – 50 Inch (Rs. 29,999.00) and 55 Inch (Rs. 34,999). Both have 4K LED displays supporting HDR 10, HLG and Dolby Vision. They come with an Alexa voice remote and Fire OS 7.
3. Every NYC subway stations and bus lines now supports contactless payments. New York’s MTA has finished rolling out contactless payments in all five boroughs. The OMNY (One Metro New York) system allows riders to tap-and-pay for fares with smartphones, smartwatches and contactless credit and debit cards.
4. Time-based adaptive charging for Pixel phones. Pixel’s adaptive charge feature will only kick in if you charge your phone and set your alarm within a specific time frame (09:00 PM to 05:00 AM or 09:00 PM to 10:00 AM). Currently this feature is supported in Pixel 4/XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5.
5. Graphcore, the U.K.-based startup developing chips and systems to accelerate AI workloads, raises $222 Million to scale up AI chip production. This amount was raised in a series E funding round led by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board.
